Sealing material expands with water.

This product is a water expansion rubber. It contains an absorption polymer which expands itself to 10-1000 times its volume within. It is used in the manufacture of baby's diapers because it is safe. Water is absorbed by the rubber, which prevents leakage of water by the absorption polymer in the rubber. However, it does not expand quickly, it takes approximately one week to expand to its maximum size.
